I was driving around the beltway this afternoon, in the far right lane that turns into the ramp to get onto 83-South, when the sunlight hit my eyes in it's late day blindingness. I closed my eyes and counted "one-thousand-one, one-thousand two, one-thousand..." until I reached five. When I opened them I found myself perfectly within the curve of the white and yellow line, my speedometer reading a steady 65 miles per hour.

There's a lot to be said for faith.

I've been wondering a lot about time and focus. I was watching something on the Discovery Channel about an austistic kid in England who couldn't count to ten but who could make perfect replications of images he had seen that day. Intricately gilded and scuplted cathedrals, London Bridge, Big Ben; exact copies of every minute detail in their architecture. The narrator explained how scientists believe that autism opens or augments hidden portions of the mind, I couldn't help but think that sooner or later an austistic kid is going to learn how to levitate or learn telekinesis. You know, "learn" isn't even the right word, he's just going to do it. WHAM! Watch me levitate, bitches.

That's what I want most to do. Levitate. Bet you never thought I could.
