They're this generation's used car salesmen. Make. Work. Job.

I could just as easily fax an order to a warehouse.

... every beverage in between

While it may sound silly to say aloud : I have a passion for beverages. What's comforting at least is how clearly not alone I am in this pursuit. I got my first issue of Imbibe last week. I don't really subscribe to any magazines. Maxim is sleazy, Esquire mildly effete, and GQ just doesn't seem written towards me. But this, this is most definitely speaking my language.

Unfortunately the September/October issue was beer related and I've just never been one of those beer wieners who try and taste it like wine and obsess over it's properties. There were however a few cocktail recipes including a Cachaca Aperitif with honey syrup and sage leaves and a Southside Fizz. Sadly, the doors on the new place won't open until October and these summery drinks have to get filed away for next year.

Also, I need a heavily air conditioned room to test fall drinks. Certain things just don't taste right in 80 degree weather.

(Post ending abruptly, cannot come up with closing thought)

Nothing, and i mean nothing, makes me honest-to-god laugh out loud anymore. Except of course for the brilliance of GYWO

Again!

The Pile

A fews trips through the liquor store, a specialty food or home goods store here and there, and wow - it really starts to add up. Above is the sum of the past three months of cocktail research I've been doing with my spare time. Anytime I see a different flavor of brandy or come across some foreign aperitif I get childishly curious and a little "oo" goes off in my head. Example: going to Di Pasquales for a meatball sub (amazing) turns into an impromptu booze run and I walk out with anisette and a bottle of tawny port.

So the experimentation station had to move out of the office kitchenette and to the home, as our handy-man guts that area to drop me in a triple-sink and a soda gun. Some fresh tile and shelves and it's back into the company lab. For now though, as summer wanes from the I-wanna-punch-God-in-the-face-it's-so-hot-outside and towards the cool nights of Labor Day, let's-pick-crabs-on-the-deck mode; it's pretty nice to have libations on hand at the end of the a long day. After all, eventually here's where these bottles will come home again a few months from now to be enjoyed by dear friends and family rather than thristy customers.

p.s. my twelve cocktail books wouldn't fit into frame
