Finally, an argument against investigative journalism that doesn't rely on foxnews for precedent. Jason Wilson of the Washington Post just had to go and spill the beans on DC speakeasy Hummingbird to Mars. Apparently someone forgot to tell J the second rule of fight club.

HtM was not only a brilliant concept, it was also one of the coolest social activities T has found for us. Granted, on our one visit to the secret location of Bourbon's upstairs bar there did see to be people in attendance more for the vibe than the drinks - their presence however didn't distract me from enjoying the libations or studying and inquiring to the bartender about technique and ingredients.

I'll spare you the details of HtM's now defunct concept, Kate Nerenberg's article about the outing and subsequent closing of the venture paints an adequate picture, needless to say Mr. Wilson has deprived me of an excellent place to learn from the dc mixologists helping bring down that new york game down south. And for that, buddy, you better not catch me in a dark alley.

If there's a silver lining it's that the article above does contain a video of Justin Guthrie making curry-infused bourbon for the Baltimore Bengali, the only one of the twelve drinks that wasn't available the night of our one and only visit. So you know what? I'm gonna try and shed this anger and focus on the fact that I've got a reason to fire up the stove.

- Repeating lies do not make them true, you’re taking a page from GW on making soundbites that middle Americans can repeat to each other
- Pivoting every question towards Alaska being an energy producer makes you sound “small town”, double edged sword
- Increasing taxes does not kill jobs, reaping the benefits of a perceived “strong economy” for 8 years and then lame ducking a trillion dollar bailout bill does not make you heroes
- She made a joke in July about not knowing what the VP does and defended it with “well I guess nobody got it, giggle”?? Are you fucking kidding me? SP as the tie breaker in a floor vote scares the ever loving shit out of me.

Joe Biden
- Tying McCain to Dick Cheney’s policies, that was old school. Cheney- Rumsfeld created the failed policies that Bush will, in history, take the fall for. Calling Dick “the most dangerous vice president in American history”, I can’t believe the crowd didn’t erupt in applause.
- I wish he had made more sharp contrasts with regards to what Palin called “executive experience”, 35 years of federal public service versus her incredibly limited time in Alaskan office.
- I greatly appreciate him not making any embarrassing gaffes in the vein of the FDR and television remark.
